Vitour recommends tyre scrubbing for the entire Tempesta range and proper cure time, including P1, X1 and Sonic. This procedure provides longevity of tread and stable performance throughout the tyre life cycle. Unscrubbed tyres are susceptible to cold-graining, increased wear and performance degradation
Tire scrubbing for trackday and circuit competition use:
Drive a 15-20 minute gentle session on the track with load gradually increasing every lap, but not reaching more than 90% of the intended pace for the tire use on track, at the end of the session drive an additional cool-down lap. Any wheelspin, wheel locking, sliding or any other aggressive driving during the scrubbing session should be avoided!
After tire scrubbing session, tire set should be left alone to cure for no less than 24hours, meaning for the upcoming trackday or competition tire should be done at least two days prior the event. This is a crucial step for a successful scrubbing procedure.Pressure and Camber for Track use
Cold tire pressures - 1.6 bar for vehicles under 1400kg, 1.7 bar for vehicles over 1400kg. Adjust and monitor every 4-5 laps till the pressure stabilizes
Hot tire pressures 1.8-2.0 bar range depending on car weight on the front axle.
Rear axle can be adjusted +- 0.2 bar depending on balance and handling needs. Less pressure to adjust oversteer, more pressure to adjust understeer.
Optimal camber from -2.5 to -4. Check wear and temperatures, for ideal setup - aim for inner tread temps slightly higher than outside and center section.
